Update: 27-Year-Old Man Charged with Asbury Shooting

A 27-year-old North Carolina man was arrested early this morning in connection to last night's shooting in Asbury Park.

At approximately 10 p.m., police responded to the 1500 block of Summerfield Avenue for a report of a shooting. 

Upon arrival police found a 24-year-old Neptune Township man on Washington Avenue suffering from a gunshot wound to his back.

The victim was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center  where he was treated and released.

Investigation revealed that the victim was inside a parked 2005 Chevrolet Malibu when gunfire erupted.

According to the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office, Elijah "Streets" Graham was arrested around 4 a.m., today in connection with the shooting. No information was immediately provided as to what led police to Graham or where he was located.

Graham was charged with first-degree attempted murder, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon. 

He is currently being held at the Monmouth County Correctional Institute in lieu of $500,000 bail with no 10 percent option.
