Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Passaic Police Chief Luis A. Guzman reported that at approximately 11:35 p.m. on August 16, Passaic Police conducting patrol in the area of Passaic and Sixth Street were informed of a shooting incident in the area of Passaic and Third Street.
Officials said responding Passaic Police officers located the crime scene a 24-year-old Passaic resident, upon their arrival.
The victim was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment and remains in stable condition.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
