Newark Police are investigating a shooting that left a 19-year-old man injured late Monday night.
According to information released by Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, officers responded to reports of shots fired at approximately 11:42 p.m. Monday, August 17, in the 100 block of North 12th Street near 4th Avenue.
When officers arrived, they located a 19-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was transported to University Hospital, where officials said he was listed in stable condition.
Authorities have not released information regarding a possible motive or suspect.
The shooting remains under active investigation.
