Union Twp. Police Seek Public's Help in Identifying Burglary Suspect

Union Township (Union)

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a burglary suspect whose image was captured by one of the businesses' surveillance camera.

Police are investigating a string of recently reported burglaries in the overnight hours in Union Township, police said today.

The burglaries accord at the following three businesses:

1. Magie Mart, 965 Magie Ave. at 2:53 AM on 1/11 • Officers responded to a burglar alarm and found the business had been burglarized and entry was made via the front door.  The suspect smashed the glass out of the door and stole cash and cigarettes.

2. Tony’s Pizza Delight, 1331 Magie Ave. at 11:57 PM on 1/12  • A resident reported hearing strange noises and called the police.  Officers found the window in front of the business was damaged and it appears the suspect left just prior to police arrival.  The burglar did not get into the business.

3. Manhattan Bagels, 1350 Galloping Hill Rd. at 1:30 AM on 1/13.

Officers on patrol found the front glass door had been smashed out and their investigation showed that a burglary had taken place.  Cash was taken in this crime.

Some of the businesses had video and the photos are from the stores.  The suspect appears to be a white male with a plaid jacket and a scarf wrapped around his neck, wearing jeans and work boots.

If anyone recognizes him, please contact the Union Police Department (908-851-5000) and speak with a Detective.
