Union Gas Station Robbery Ends in Pursuit, Crash, Weapons Recovery in Newark

A reported armed robbery that occurred at a gas station in Union ended with a crash then a foot pursuit in Newark.

The incident took place at the Rt. 22 Exxon before 3:10 p.m. where two suspects brandished a large weapon and robbed an attendant at the gas station.

According to reports, the suspect sped away from the scene but were immediately followed by police where were already on patrol in the area.

Officers attempting to pull over the vehicle were ignored by the suspects who continued to speed away.

The fleeing vehicle entered into the 200 block of Osborne Terrace where the suspects reported lost control and struck a house.

Two suspects bailed from the vehicle and engaged officers in a foot pursuit where officers apprehended the men in the 50's block of Bock Ave. reports said.

Officers found an AK-47 and one other gun inside the crashed vehicle.

The vehicle was. Arjacked out of Newark.

There were no injuries reported.
