Police in Jersey City are investigating two shootings that caused injuries in the city overnight.
The first incident happened in the 400 block of Ocean Avenue shortly before 11 p.m. where police responded to several calls for a person shot at that location.
Units arriving at the scene found the victim shot multiple times according to reports.
EMS transported the victim to Jersey City Medical Center where his injuries were not reported as life threatening.
In the second shooting, EMS to rushed to the 100 block of Myrtle Avenue a little after 2 a.m. after reports of shots fired had a man struck to the chest at that location according to reports.
The victim was transported to Jersey City Medical Center in critical condition.
Witnesses told authorities that a dark colored 4-door vehicle was observed speeding away from the scene immediately after the shooting.
There were no arrests reported in either of the shooting.
Jersey City police are investigating motives.
