Police in Paterson are investigating a double shooting that sent two victims to the hospital on Monday night.
According to preliminary reports, gunfire erupted in the vicinity of 12th Avenue and East 22nd Street at approximately 10:45 p.m.
Officers arrived at the scene and found a severely injured person and began life-saving techniques before EMS rushed the unidentified person to St. Joseph's Hospital.
While police canvassed the scene for evidence and additional victims, a male -who suffered a bullet wound in his leg- entered St. Joseph's Hospital suffering a gunshot wound in his leg.
Police believe that the hospital walk-in shooting victim suffered his injury at the 12th Avenue shooting scene.
The motive for the double shooting remains under investigation.
