Two Men Charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Narcotics in Hasbrouck Heights

Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo announced the arrest of Romulo Chaidez Medrano, 26, of Mexico and Arcenio Chaidez Medrano, 36, of Mexico on charges of Possession With Intent To Distribute A Controlled Dangerous Substance, namely crystal methamphetamine, heroin, and fentanyl.

According to authorities, on Nov. 9th, pursuant to a narcotic investigation, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office received information that Romulo and Arcenio were travelling to Bergen County with the intent to distribute large amounts of crystal methamphetamine, heroin, and fentanyl.

Officials say Romulo and Arcenio Chaidez Medrano were subsequently located in Hasbrouck Heights and arrested. At the time of their arrests, they were in possession of thirteen kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, three and one half kilograms of heroin, six thousand two hundred fifty-five tablets of fentanyl, as well as three pounds of raw fentanyl. The estimated street value of the seized drugs is $3,000,000.00.

Both suspects were each charged with two counts of Possession With Intent To Distribute A Controlled Dangerous Substance, namely crystal methamphetamine, heroin and one count of Possession With Intent To Distribute A Controlled Dangerous Substance, namely fentanyl. Romulo and Arcenio Chaidez Medrano were remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending their first appearances in Central Municipal Court in Hackensack on Nov. 21st at 8:30 a.m.

Acting Prosecutor Calo states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
