Two Men Arrested in Connection with New Jersey Shooting Incident

Somerset County authorities have arrested two men, Mr.  Ikeem Thomas, 20, of Covington Georgia, and Mr. Josiah T. Talbert, 20, of Somerset, over a shooting incident that took place on March 1, 2022.

The Bridgewater Township Police Department responded to a 9-1-1 call at approximately 3:31 p.m. on that day, where a victim reported gunshots fired at their vehicle near Sunny Slope Road in Bridgewater.

Fortunately, the victim emerged unharmed from the incident.

Detectives from both the Somerset County Prosecutor's Major Crimes Unit and the Bridgewater Township Police Department collaborated on the investigation.

Their efforts led to the identification of Thomas and Talbert as the alleged shooters.

Ikeem Thomas was apprehended without incident in New Brunswick on May 5, 2022.

He faces charges including 1st degree Attempted Murder and 1st degree Conspiracy to Commit Murder, among others.

He is currently being held at the Somerset County Jail as he awaits a detention hearing.

Josiah Talbert was similarly arrested without any issues in North Brunswick on August 28, 2023.

He has been charged with the same crimes as Thomas and is also awaiting a detention hearing at the Somerset County Jail.
