Two Linden Residents Robbed While Playing Pokemon Go

A Linden man and woman reported to police that they were robbed of their wallets and cellphones while playing Pokemon Go last night.

The 33-year-old man and 24-year-old woman were sitting in their car on Lucien Place when they were approached by a dark-skinned male who pointed a handgun at them and demanded their property. shortly after at 11 p.m.

After the victims handed over their property, the suspect - last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and dark pants - entered an SUV occupied by two other individuals and left on Fernwood Terrace.

The victims attempted to follow the SUV to get a license plate number, when, on the 100 block of Fernwood terrace, they heard three gunshots coming from the SUV.

The victims then drove to Raritan Road where they flagged down a Cranford police officer who contacted Linden police.

Officers arriving on Fernwood Terrace did recover some ballistic evidence. Neither of the victims were injured.

The Detective Bureau is conducting an investigation of the incident.
