Authorities in Newark are investigating two separate shooting that sent victims to the hospital overnight in the city.
In the first incident, police responded to 175 First Street after receiving reports of shots fired at that location.
Arriving units located a male victim on the upper floors of the building suffering multiple gunshot injuries according to reports.
EMS rushed the man to University Hospital serious but stable condition.
In the second shooting incident, Officials at University Hospital contacted police when a male victim suffering a non-life threatening gunshot injury to the arm entered the hospital's emergency department.
Police are trying to determine if the victim was struck by gunfire that rang out a little earlier on Bergen Street and Hawthorne Avenue.
A motive for both shootings remain under investigation.
