Two Injured in Newark Central Ward Shooting

Police are on the scene of s shooting in the city's Central Ward at this time.

Reports of shots fired on the 100 block of Broome Street where police found a man suffering a gunshot wound to the torso.

EMS transported the victim to University Hospital a short time ago.

A second victim -who was reportedly shot 10 times - was transported by private vehicle to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

There is a crime scene established and an investigation is underway.

Police are investigating as many as three other reports of shots fired that rang out in locations around the city with shell casings located.

No arrests have been made in connection to the shooting.

An investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
