Police are investigating separate early morning shootings that sent at least two people to the hospital in Newark.
Gunfire erupted in the 400 block of Felinghuysen Ave. sending police to the scene where officers located a male victim suffering a gunshot wound to the leg.
The victim was transported to University Hospital where his injuries were not reported to be life threatening.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
Police setup a crime scene in the area of 15th Ave. and South 11th Street after a male victim when walked into Universtiy Hospital suffering a gunshot wound told authorities that he was shot at that location.
His injuries were not reported to be life threatening.
Police closed down several blocks in the area of Fairmount Ave. and South 15th Ave. late last night after locating several shell casings from a shooting that happened shortly before their arrival.
There were no immediate reports of injuries.
It is not known if any of the shootings are connected at this time.
