Two Arrested in Newark in Connection with the Fatal Shooting of 50-Year-Old Jersey City Man

Two Jersey City men were arrested in Newark yesterday in connection to the murder of a city man who was struck by a stray bullet as he worked on a parked car.

Marquis Allen, 18, and James Wheeler, 19, who were arrested yesterday afternoon in Newark for the murder of Larry Darnell Freeman who was shot on Sackett Street in Jersey City on May 27.

Police arrived to the scene were they found Freeman suffering a gunshot wound to the head. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene minutes later. 

Allen and Wheeler have been charged with possession for a firearm for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a fire arm and are scheduled to,make their first appearance this afternoon.
