Two-Alarm Fire Displaces Two Families in Jersey City

An early morning fire in a four-story apartment this morning was quickly extinguished by crews.

Sometime around 5:20 a.m., crews quickly placed a fire - on the 500 block of Garfield Avenue - under control within approximately 40 minutes after it ignited in the kitchen of a first floor apartment. 

The fire was contained to two apartments which were severe damaged, displacing both families.

No injuries were immediately reported.
