Two-Alarm Fire Damages House in Long Branch

Fire officials in Long Branch swiftly knocked down a fire that ripped through a house in the city early this morning.

According to fire officials, the fast-moving two-alarm fire ignited inside a house located at 557 Manahassett Avenue shortly before 3:30 a.m. sending firefighters to the scene where they observed heavy flames tearing through the roof of the two and a half story home.

Long Branch firefighters with assistance from neighboring municipalities were able to contain the fire in under an hour where they searched the structure for trapped, and injured occupants officials said.

There were no injuries reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
