Trespasser Struck, Killed by NJ Transit Train in Bloomfield

NJ Transit Officials suspended trains on the Montclair-Boonton line between Bay and Newark Broad Streets due after a trespasser reportedly jumped in front of a train on at Watsessing Avenue this morning.

The incident happened at around 9:36 a.m. when the fully occupied NJ Transit train, headed to NY Penn Station, struck the unidentified person when they entered the train tracks in the single digit block of Watsessing according to officials.

There were no injuries reported onboard the train.

NJ Transit authorities will handle the investigation.
