UPDATE: Twelve Shooting Incidents Injure Nine with One Dead in Newark

Police officials in Newark are investigating twelve shootings that injured nine victims with one woman fatally wounded. The following is a rundown of several incidents.

**JULY 26,2020**

**7:16 p.m.** 288 6th Street ShotSpotter activation alerts police of gunfire. Shell casings recovered, no injuries.

**10:25 p.m.** a **[21-year-old woman shot dead](https://www.rlsmedia.com/article/update-21-year-old-woman-fatally-shot-newarks-west-ward)** while at Bradley Court Housing Development. Gunmen fire multiple shots at the woman.

**July 27, 2020,**

**12:13 a.m.** 225 Washington Street **[shots fired near a bar](https://www.rlsmedia.com/article/police-investigating-shots-fired-newark)** shell casings recovered no injuries from shooting but one person assaulted.

**1:50 a.m.** Florence Avenue and Richelieu Terrace shell casings found after gunfire rang out. No injuries reported.

**2:10 a.m.** ShotSpotter activation in the vicinity of 114 16th Avenue. Shell casings recovered, no injuries

**3:30 p.m.** Gunfire rang out in the vicinity of 389 South 20th Street. Male found shot in the leg, non-life-threatening.

**4:47 p.m.** Shooting victim enters Police Headquarters on Clinton Avenue, suffering a bullet wound in his hip. Police found shell casings on Chadwick Avenue near Clinton Avenue.

**5:22 p.m.** University Hospital walk-in gunshot victim was shot on 17th Avenue and Hunterdon. Shell casings recovered.

**7:50 p.m.** Armed suspects approach man in the 100 block of Park Avenue and began firing shots into his stomach. Suspects fled the scene.

**9:27 p.m.** Vehicles exchange gunfire that began near ShopRite on Springfield Avenue, causing a crash on Market Street and University Avenue. One person inside the vehicle found shot.

**11:49 p.m.** Three victims shot after gunmen repeatedly fired at them in the 100 block of Riverside Court in Newark's North Ward.

**July 28, 2020**

**1:34 a.m.** Shots fired near 850 South 11th Street. Shell casings recovered, no victims.

There are no arrests that have been reported in any of the incidents.
