Police are investigating a shooting that injured three victims on the Irvington-Newark border this evening.
At approximately 7 p.m., gunfire rang out in the vicinity of 724 Springfield Avenue, prompting a police investigation.
When officers arrived, they found a male victim struck by bullets in between 20th and 21streets.
Police said the victim was rushed to University Hospital for treatment and is reportedly suffering serious injuries.
While investigating the scene, police learned that two additional gunshot victims entered the emergency room suffering bullet wounds.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation by Irvington Police and no arrests have been reported.
