Three suspects Charged in Jersey City Drug Bust

According to police, on Monday, members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Gang Task Force arrested three Jersey City residents while investigating on Wade Street in Jersey City.

Police say Mr. Malcolm Haynes, 48, Ms. April Rice, 47, and Mr. Dwight Drew, 30, all from Jersey City has been arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (Cocaine) with the Intent to Distribute, Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (Heroin) with the Intent to Distribution, Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (Cocaine) with the Intent to Distribute within 500 feet of a Public Building , Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (Heroin) with the Intent to Distribute within 500 feet of a Public Building, Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (Cocaine), Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (Heroin), Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (Cocaine) with the Intent to Distribute within 1000 feet of School Property.

Following the arrests, the defendants were transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility in Kearny.

Prosecutor Esther Suarez credited the Gang Task Force with the arrests and the Jersey City Police Department for assisting with the arrests.

The above charges are merely accusations, and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. R.P.C.3.6(b)(6).
