Children jumped rope and played summer games out on the sidewalk in a closely knit community surrounded by a school, community center, and even a police station. It was a little after 6:30 PM as residents began to prepare for the evening. When suddenly, rapid gun blast ripped through the neighborhood sending kids scurrying for cover, adults frantically searching for their children, and a neighborhood littered with bullets. Police raced out of the precinct in an attempt to protect and serve but when the smoke cleared, three people suffered from gunshots on 18th Ave. and Livingston St. as residents told us, "it was a horror scene". As one of the bodies laid on the streets covered in a white sheet, police searched the housing complex for additional victims setting up a crime scene that took up more than 7 blocks. The suspect/s allegedly fled the scene in a silver Infinity with tinted windows according to reports. A vehicle fitting that description was reportedly located blocks engulfed in flames. Police say one of the victims at the scene fainted during the incident and was taken to the hospital. There have been no arrest at this time.
