Orange

Newark-- Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray announced today that an Essex County Grand Jury has indicted Rasuan Foster, 29, of East Orange, Zaki Jones, 33, of Newark, and Jarret Mceachin, 29, of Orange for the murder of Naji Everett, 26, of Orange.

In addition to murder, the four count indictment charges Foster, Jones and Mceachin with conspiracy, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon.

The indictment alleges that on Dec. 17, 2015 in West Orange, Everett was fatally shot outside a residence in the 100 block of Joyce Street. Everett was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 6:30 a.m, according to Assistant Prosecutor Justin Edwab, who is handling the case.

Foster, Jones, and Mceachin are both currently being held on $750,000 bail.

All three defendants are scheduled to be arraigned on July 25 before Honorable Ronald Wigler, the presiding Essex County Criminal Division Judge.

These are accusations. All defendants are presumed to be innocent unless and until they plead guilty or are found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
