Three Injured in Newark House Fire

Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose reports that members of the Newark Fire Division extinguished a two-alarm fire at 161-163 North 12th Street today.

According to fire officials, at approximately 11:07 a.m., members of the Newark Fire Division responded to the fire at the two residential buildings.

Police say two adults and one child were transported to St. Barnabas Hospital in Livingston for treatment.

One firefighter was evaluated at the scene for heat exhaustion officials said.

No other injuries have been reported.

Firefighters brought the fire under control at 11:49 a.m.

The cause and origin of the fire is under investigation by the Newark Fire Division’s Arson Unit.
