Three people were injured in a violent overnight shooting in Trenton late Monday night, authorities said.
Police responded to reports of gunfire in the 900 block of Southard Street around 11 p.m. Upon arrival, officers located three individuals suffering from gunshot wounds at the scene.
One of the victims sustained critical injuries, while the conditions of the other two were not immediately released.
All three victims were transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Detectives from the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office, along with Trenton police, canvassed the area for evidence and searched for any additional victims.
The motive for the shooting remains unclear and the investigation is active and ongoing.
