Three Arrested in Connection With Passaic Shooting

Passaic County authorities reported that based upon an investigation by the Passaic Police Department, Farad Anthony, 31-years-old, Sahad Burgos, 31, and Carinell Pellot-Nieves both of Passaic and 24-years-old from Prospect Par were arrested in relation to a shooting investigation that took place May 4, 2022, in the area of Market Street and Morris Street in Passaic. 

Farad Anthony and Sahad Burgos are each charged with two counts of Attempted Murder, First Degree; Robbery, First Degree; Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, First Degree; Aggravated Assault, Second Degree; Burglary, Second Degree; Certain Persons Not to Have Weapons, Second Degree; Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, Second Degree; and Criminal Restraint, Third Degree. Carinell Pellot-Nieves is charged with Conspiracy to Commit Robbery, Second Degree, and Conspiracy to Commit Burglary, Second Degree.

On May 4, 2022, at approximately 7:56 a.m., members of the Passaic Police Department responded to the area of Market Street and Morris Street in Passaic on a report of an injured victim.

Upon arrival the police located a witness who advised the victim had left the area. Shortly thereafter, members of the Passaic Police Department were advised that a 28-year-old male Passaic resident arrived at Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson seeming treatment for non-fatal injuries.

Farad Anthony and Sahad Burgos were identified as actors who assaulted the victim during a home invasion and fired a handgun in the victim’s direction, but the victim was not struck.

Carinell Pellot-Neives was identified as a co-conspirator in the incident.

On May 12, 2022, at approximately 6:00 p.m., members of the Passaic Police Department arrested Farad Anthony and Carinell Pellot-Nieves at the Newark Liberty International Airport.

On May 12, 2022, at approximately 6:19 p.m., members of the Passaic Police Department arrested Sahad Burgos in the area of Passaic Street and Columbia Avenue in Passaic.
