Bergen County

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrests of three adults and the filing of charges against a 17-year-old juvenile in connection with an armed home invasion that occurred in Lodi in October.

According to Prosecutor Musella, the arrests follow a months-long joint investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, under the direction of Deputy Chief Jeff Angermeyer, and the Lodi Police Department, led by Chief Donald Scorzetti.

Authorities said that on October 15, 2025, at approximately 8:00 p.m., officers responded to reports of screams at an apartment complex on Bel Vista Court. Investigators later determined that a marijuana transaction inside the residence led to a confrontation with three masked suspects, one of whom struck the victim in the head with a firearm.

The victim managed to escape and run to safety, while two suspects remained inside and burglarized the apartment, taking cash and marijuana before fleeing in a Hyundai Santa Fe.

Detectives eventually identified the suspects as 27-year-old Kas A. Mallory of Wallington, 27-year-old Trevonn A. Nevers of River Edge, and a 17-year-old juvenile from Passaic County.

Investigators also linked the Hyundai Santa Fe to Mallory.

On December 10, 2025, members of the Bergen County Regional SWAT Team assisted investigators in taking Nevers and Mallory into custody at their respective residences.

A court-authorized search of Mallory’s home resulted in the recovery of a stolen Glock 9mm handgun, an extended drum magazine, and ammunition. Nyla J. King, 20, who resides with Mallory, was also arrested.

Nevers and Mallory were remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending court proceedings. King was charged and released on her own recognizance.

The juvenile suspect was charged the following day while already detained at the Essex County Juvenile Detention Center on an unrelated matter.

All defendants are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
