Teenager Wounded in Lakewood Shooting

Lakewood Police are currently investigating a shooting incident that took place last night, leaving a 16-year-old male with a gunshot wound.AdThe incident came to light shortly after 10:30 p.m. when the Toms River Police Department reported that the teenager had arrived at Community Medical Center with a non-life-threatening injury to his leg.

The shooting is believed to have occurred in the area of Davina Court in Lakewood. Local residents reported to the responding officers that they had heard sounds resembling gunshots about 30 minutes prior to the police being alerted.

The victim stated that he was in a vehicle with several others for a meeting with at least one other individual when the shooting occurred.AdFollowing the incident, his friends rushed him to the hospital for medical treatment.

As the investigation unfolds, the Lakewood Police Department is actively seeking additional information.
