There is a search for a suspect that fired several rounds from a gun in a Newark neighborhood injuring a teenage boy late last night.
Several rounds of gunfire ripped through the silence of the evening at around 9 p.m. in the area of Bergen Street and 17th Avenue rushing cop to the scene where they found a male victim shot at that location.
EMS transported the victim (who was reported to around 15-years-old) the short distance to University Hospital where he suffered a gunshot wound to the leg. The boy's injuries were not immediately reported to be life threatening.
Police searched the area for a black male who was last observed fleeing the scene wearing a dark colored hoodie.
