According to police, the incident began when the driver picked up two men in Neptune Township and transported them to the Oak Glen Park area.

As the cab arrived at the destination, one of the men allegedly slashed the 46-year-old driver across the face.

Investigators said the injured driver managed to flee the vehicle, while the two suspects drove away in the taxi.

An officer on patrol later located the bleeding driver at approximately 11:15 p.m.

Police eventually found the taxi abandoned on Old Tavern Road. A K-9 unit was deployed in an attempt to locate the suspects, but the search was unsuccessful.

Authorities are now searching for two men believed to be between 18 and 24 years old. They were described as wearing dark clothing, having dark hair, and speaking only Spanish.
