There is an active search underway for two suspects wanted for a strong-armed robbery of a Belleville resident overnight.
Residents in the 30's block of Belmont Avenue contacted police after two male suspects arrived in the neighborhood and forcefully took personal possessions from a resident while he returned home from work at around 11 p.m.
The suspects -only described as black males- reportedly took personal possessions before they ran eastbound on Bloomfield Avenue toward the city of Newark.
There were no serious physical injuries immediately reported.
UPDATE 8:46am Victim struck in the head several times. Wallet and cash was taken.
