Suspect Wanted for Newark Shots Fired Incident

Police in Newark seek the public’s help in locating Mr. Murad Brown, 49, of Newark, wanted for questioning in connection with the firearm discharge that occurred on Monday, December 12. 

According to Newark Police, at approximately 10 a.m., police responded to the 200 block of Sussex Avenue on a call of shots fired.  

Police say an individual in a white SUV was observed shooting at a black SUV while both vehicles traveled at high speed in the area.  

No injuries have been reported, but responding officers recovered a spent shell casing at Sussex Avenue and 1st Street.   

 

Police said Newark Detectives investigating this incident sought the public’s help in locating Brown regarding this incident.
