Suspect Wanted for Burglary in Newark

Newark Police are requesting the public's help in locating Christopher Barnes, 56, wanted for questioning in connection with a burglary that occurred on Thursday, August 18.   Officials said police responded to a residence in the 100 block of Stuyvesant Avenue on a burglary call. 

According to police, the victim reported that several tools, appliances, and furniture were stolen from the home.

The tools included a jackhammer, wooden trap saw, screw gun, chain saw, and nail gun, among other tools.

The appliances included three portable heaters, a double-door refrigerator, a gas stove, a washer and dryer, and a 58" TV.

The furniture consisted of a bathroom vanity, three living room seats, and other items.   Detectives investigating this incident seek the public's help in locating Barnes, who is wanted for questioning as part of their investigation.

He is 5'7" tall and 150 pounds, with black and gray hair and brown eyes.
