Bergen County law enforcement officials seek the public’s assistance for information leading to the arrest of Mr. Aaron Sierra, 22, of Bergenfield, on charges of attempted murder, possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a handgun, receiving stolen property and obstruction of justice by flight.
Prosecutor Mark Musella said at approximately 6:50 p.m. on Sunday, May 21, 2023, the Bergenfield Police Department responded to a report of shots fired within a private residence.
According to authorities, emergency responders discovered a 20-year-old female victim with multiple gunshot wounds.
Prosecutor Musella said the woman was transported to an area hospital and is in stable condition.
An investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Bergenfield Police Department revealed that Sierra shot the victim and fled the scene.
He remains at large.
