A vehicle pursuit of a stolen vehicle that began in Morris Plains ended in Roseland with police breaking off the pursuit after losing the car.
The chase began before 6:15 a.m. when officers spotted a male stealing a car and started to follow it onto Rt. 80 according to preliminary reports.
The vehicle sped east on Rt. 80 then to Rt. 280 in Roseland where State Police were notified.
Police described the suspect as a thin black male with long hair, saggy jeans, and red underwear.
There were no injuries reported.
