Police in Jersey City are on the search of a suspect who fired multiple rounds of bullets in a neighborhood that struck a person and caused property damage.
According to preliminary reports, gunfire rang out in the vicinity of 289 Bergen Avenue at approximately 5:10 a.m., prompting police to the scene to investigate.
When officers arrived, they found an unidentified person struck by bullets at that location. Police say during a further search of the neighborhood, officers found an unoccupied shot up vehicle.
The victim was rushed to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment and remained in stable condition.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation and the suspect remains at-large.
