Stray Bullets Strike House, Car in Newark's Central Ward

Police are investigating a shots fired incident that caused property damage in Newark's Central Ward Monday morning. 

At approximately 12:40 a.m., police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the  400 block of Morris Avenue, prompting an officer response. 

Upon arrival, police taped the area off after they located shell casings at that location. 

As police searched the scene,  they found a home and a car struck by bullets. 

No one inside the residence was struck by gunfire and the car was unoccupied. 

The suspect fled the scene and is at large.
