Police in Paterson are investigating a shooting that left a teenage girl seriously injured overnight.
Gunfire erupted in the 600 block of Main Street shortly before 9 p.m. last night sending police to the scene where they located a house that had been struck by gunfire and a girl around the age of 17-years-old injured inside.
EMS transported the girl to St. Josesphs Hospital alert and conscious. Preliminarily, police do not believe that the girl was the intended target of gunfire but was hit by a stray bullet.
Authorities are searching for the suspect/s responsible.
