Step Back in Time: Osborn Cannonball House to Host Free Public Tour

Scotch Plains

By: Jeff Sommes

History lovers are invited to explore one of Scotch Plains’ most treasured landmarks when the Osborn Cannonball House opens its doors to the public on Sunday, August 3, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Located at 1840 Front Street, the historic home will feature costumed docents who will share stories of the Osborn family and their significant role in the American Revolution.

Visitors will also get a glimpse into the past with a special display of late 19th and early 20th century traveling attire, complementing this year’s “Coming to America” theme.

Operated by the Historical Society of Scotch Plains and Fanwood, the Osborn Cannonball House Museum is open to the public on the first Sunday of each month from March through December, as well as by appointment.

Admission is always free.

The Historical Society encourages community members to consider volunteering or becoming members to help preserve and promote local history.
