Somerset County authorities are investigating a shooting that fatally injured one person in Somerville Sunday morning.
According to police, gunfire rang out in the vicinity of 1028 US-22 around midnight.
Officers arrived at the scene found the unconscious, an unresponsive victim suffering bullet wounds at that location. Police say officers provided CPR to the victim before EMS rushed the injured to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick.
Police believe the shooting is related to a barricaded person that took place in the 400 block of Bayberry Road.
The motive for the incident remains under investigation.
