Social Media Threat Against Linden High School Students Has Police Investigating

Police in Linden are investing reports of threats against high school students on social media.

According to police, yesterday evening the police department received several reports from high school students that a threat against them was posted on social media.

The threat consisted of a photo image of an assault rifle and a message that read, "Linden High school students should stay home today (Oct. 6)."

The police department is working with the Board of Education to ensure the safety and security of the students and staff, both in and around the school.

The school is in normal operation mode today with an increased presence of officers and detectives, police said.

The department is conducting an investigation into the threat message.
