Police located shell casings during a shots-fired incident in a Newark neighborhood Monday night.

A preliminary investigation indicated that at approximately 9:35 p.m.,  a ShotSpotter device activated in the area of Rose Street, prompting police to investigate near the Woodland Cemetary.

Officers arrived, canvassed the area, and found multiple shell casings. Police say they also recovered shell casings near 83 Treacy Avenue but have not confirmed that the two shootings are related.

During their search, no victims were located at the crime scene.
