Police in Newark are searching for a suspect wanted for firing a gun in a North Ward community Thursday night.
It happened around 9:35 p.m. near 178 North 12th Street.
A ShotSpotter device activated and alerted police of a shooting in the community.
When cops arrived, police found several shell casings, but no injuries were reported after officers canvassed the scene.
Newark Police Major Crime Shooting team was notified and assisted in the investigation.
