ShotSpotter Device Activates on Rose Terrace in Newark

Police officials are investigating a reported shots-fired incident that occurred in Newark's South Ward Saturday night. 

According to police, at approximately 10:40 p.m., a ShotSpotter device was activated in the single-digit block of Rose Terrace. 

When police arrived at the scene, they located two witnesses who told them that suspects occupying a white vehicle fired rounds before speeding away from the scene. 

Police searched the area for a crime scene, but it is not clear if officers found shell casings at this time. 

There were no injuries reported.
