Police in Paterson are searching for a suspect following a shots fired incident Thursday afternoon in a residential section of the city.
Authorities said gunfire rang out near 587 East 18th Street, prompting officers to respond to the scene.
Upon arrival, police located evidence confirming that a shooting had occurred.
However, after canvassing the surrounding neighborhood, officers did not find any victims.
A ShotSpotter device in the area detected approximately four rounds of gunfire, assisting officers in pinpointing the location of the incident.
The suspect fled the scene and remains at large. The investigation is ongoing.
