Newark police are investigating a shots-fired incident that occurred early Monday morning in the city’s North Ward, where several shell casings were recovered but no injuries were reported.

According to officials, the incident took place around 12:50 a.m. in the area of 254 North 11th Street.
Officers responded to reports of gunfire and arrived to find evidence of a shooting, including multiple spent shell casings at the scene.
A canvass of the neighborhood was conducted, but no victims were located, and no property damage was immediately reported.
The Newark Police Shooting Response Team responded to the scene and is leading the investigation.
As of this morning, no suspects have been apprehended, and the motive behind the gunfire remains unclear.
The investigation is ongoing.
