ShotSpotter Activation Detects Newark Neighborhood Shooting

There were no injuries immediately reported in a shots-fired incident that occurred in a section of Newark Sunday evening.

According to police, units responded to a ShotSpotter activation that alerted officials of gunfire in the area of South 19th Street and 18th Avenue shortly before 8:30 p.m.

Police said when officers arrived at the scene, they found evidence that a shooting occurred, but after searching the neighborhood, no victims were found.

The suspects reported ran from the scene after firing the guns. They remain at-large, according to police.
