There were no injuries reported in a shots-fired incident that occurred in a Newark West Ward neighborhood Tuesday night.
According to police, a ShotSpotter activation alerted police of gunfire in the vicinity of 15 Pine Grove Terrace shortly before 9 p.m.
Police units arrived at the scene and found about a half dozen shell casings, but after their search of the community, no victims were found.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
