Police in Paterson are searching for a suspect wanted for firing a weapon in the city Friday evening.
According to police, at approximately 6:45 p.m, gunfire rang out in a section of East Main Street, sending officers to the scene to investigate.
Upon arrival, units found several shell casings, but after a search for the area, no victims were found.
Police say the suspect fled the scene immediately after blasting off rounds at unknown targets in the neighborhood.
The motive of the shooting has not been determined.
