There were no serious injuries reported in two shots fired incidents that occurred over the weekend in Newark.
According to police, the latest incident occurred at approximately 3:25 p.m. in the 800 block of South 17th Street where a gunman fired several shots at an unknown target then fled the scene.
Police say officers arrived to find shell casings, but after they canvassed the area, they did not locate a victim.
In a separate incident, gunfire erupted on Renner Avenue on Saturday night sending police to the scene where they arrived and were told that suspects occupying a vehicle arrived in the area and began shooting.
Police believe that the vehicle used in the shooting was stolen out of Elizabeth on Friday.
Both shootings remain under investigation.
