The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office are on the scene assisting in a shots fired investigation that occurred inside a building in the city this evening.
Police responded to reports of an injured person inside a large multi-family building located at 67 South Munn Avenue at approximately 6:45 p.m.
Units arrived to find a severely injured male at that location.
Residents who waited outside the building and not allowed to enter during the investigation spoke anonymously saying that the male was a security guard that injured himself using a gun.
The Essex County Prosecutor said they could not confirm the residents’ statement or couldn't issue a statement this early in the investigation.
Police closed South Munn in both directions to vehicles as authorities continued the investigation.
